end of the year
Dec. 9th, 2006 07:12 pmlast year's answers
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I went to college. I tried to heal. I drank and got drunk. I shared a room with someone. I taught little kids swimming lessons.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Let's see:
1. Be the change I want to see - For a long, long time I was content to be discontent with my life, or circumstances surrounding me. In the past few months, I've learned that nothing will change if I don't get out there and try to do my best to change it. If I give it my all and fail, that's ok - at least I tried. If I succeed, that's all the more reason for me to to get out there and make things happen.
I think I did ok with that one until a few months ago. This summer I think I really did try and have a certain amount of success in employing that outlook on life. But lately I've been failing miserably at it.
2. Not worry and stress so much - This may seem like a joke, but it's something I'm constantly struggling with. Hopefully, after this year stress and worry won't be such menacing adversaries anymore.
Again, partial success. I was pretty calm and relaxed during summer and for the first month or so of school . . . but lately I've been failing.

The year in a paragraph (although I'm pretty sure even a novel wouldn't be enough to talk about this year in a complete way):
So, it's officially 2006. Current DVD to Watch: Umm . . . Hm. GRINNELL! Yaaay going to Grinnell tomorrow! So, prom was last Friday. And besides the ones on the list, if anyone has some good recs for my summer reading list, I'd appreciate it muchly. I think this time of year sort of brings out the pyro in everyone. This week, like most weeks this summer, has absolutely flown by. There are times when I'm so absorbed in schoolwork and making sense of my new lifestyle that I don't really think about my life before August 18th. Since I am bored, and curious about my odd dream, I decided to look up some of the dream symbols I decided were important in that dream I talked about the other day. Holy mother moses. I guess I like my research topic for Linguistics.
