a ten-minute dream in the passenger seat

This was a long, but good weekend. And now I'm exhausted.

I just fell asleep for half an hour, and woke up to my alarm thinking it was morning. How disorienting.

It is rainy and gloomy and generally sort of fall-ish today. The weather got me to thinking about last fall, which isn't a place I revisit terribly often.

Here are some musical things that remind me of last fall:
- The Postal Service
- Death Cab's CD Plans
- "Two Weeks in Hawaii"
- "Champagne Supernova"

That's the kind of nostalgia that grabs me and shakes me sometimes, but I don't miss those days so much. They were kinda miserable. And I am glad they are over. /random thoughtful thing

Brad Neely is a funny, funny man. I watched his spoof of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with John last night instead of partaking in the 10/10 madness, and it was great. Neely's language is absurdly poetic in places, for which I appreciate him all the more.

In other news, there are only 13 days until fall break!

Hahaha, just kidding. I got tired of that other LJ. As much as I love T.S. Eliot and all his Waste Land-ery, the username "weialala" was kinda pissing me off. I sort of felt . . . I dunno . . . restricted when I wrote in that one. There wasn't any real reflection going on in there, and what passed for reflection was irritating me for some reason. So I came back to the awesome word "accresce". Hurrah!

Right now I am laying in bed with my dear laptop Logan on my estomago, listening to Oasis and talking to Becky. Typical, I suppose.

I'm very excited that John and I got plans solidified (and cheap airfare!) for my fall break. And I talked to Arpi about our room for this year. Yay planning things!

Also, Becky got me addicted to "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne and "Hum Hallelujah" by Fall Out Boy with her car mix. It's kinda crazy how much I've been listening to those songs.
